Can a man transcend the racist belief system he was raised with?

The son of a cotton plantation owner in the deep south of Mississippi, Floyd Graham grew up ingrained with a racist outlook that African American people were somehow inferior to him. But through an encounter with a black man who grew up on his dad’s plantation, Floyd's views on race begin to change. 

As African American preacher woman, Appie Phillips gently points out: "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." A story of transcendence.
